The NHL The NHL announced last
week that it would fine players $1000 for diving. This fine could be imposed
regardless of if a diving penalty is called during a game or not. What make the
whole story ludicrous, is that the league also plans on distributing reports to
each team for display on lockeroom walls.
THe league feels that by
"outing" the divers, the peer pressure will negate the amount of
diving.
What's next? Jumbo-Tron Most Wanted lists? Perhaps the league
will install gallows in arena concourses? Dunk tanks perhaps?
