|Theo Fleury - Chicago
Fleury was bounced out of a Columbus, Ohio strip club two
weeks ago after alegedly mixing it up with the club staff. Officers received a
call from an attendant at a gas station across the street from the Pure
Platinum strip club early Sunday, said Sgt. Brent Mull, spokesman for the
Columbus police department.
According to a report by officer Jason
Gunther, Fleury was "intoxicated'' and said he'd been "hit several times by
about nine bouncers'' at the club. He refused medical attention for a cut above
his left eye, and refused to give his address or phone number, though he did
tell Gunther he played for the Blackhawks.
Fleury has apologized to his
teammates. He played Thursday night in Chicago's 3-3 tie against St. Louis. The
Chicago forward was not sharp in 19 minutes, 33 seconds of ice time. After
missing the first 25 games of the season for violating the NHL substance abuse
aftercare program, he managed to avoid suspension.
"I made a bad choice.
I put some people in awkward positions. I have to deal with that. It's
unfortunate,'' Fleury said.
