LGS NHL Power Rankings
for the Week Ending 12/19
12/20/2021 - By LGS Staff
The staff writers at LetsGoSharks.com submit their league rankings each week, and we average submissions for each team. Here are the LGS NHL Power Rankings for this week:

Rank Rank Last Week Team Record Last 10 The Skinny
1 2 21-7-1 6-4-0 Cooled off a bit, but have points in the bank to play with. Metro is a tough division, so Canes better figure it out quickly.
2 5 18-5-7 6-2-2 Russian machine never break, but a few parts are missing
3 6 20-8-2 7-2-1 Leafs are a good team, but are they this good?
4 8 19-6-4 7-2-1 Back in first place in the Atlantic, and will probably stay there
5 1 18-7-4 4-5-1 Slip slidin' away for the Panthers. Looks like the clock has struck midnight for this Cinderella franchise.
6 4 19-7-4 6-3-1 Ok, Ok, we're starting to believe
7 3 19-8-2 7-2-1 7-2-1 in their l ast 10 and slip 4 spots? It doesn't always make sense.
8 11 17-8-2 7-2-1 Hoping to get healthy by April, it may work.
9 9 17-9-5 6-2-2 Good week, but th eBlues hold pat at 9.
10 14 20-11-0 8-2-0 Getting healthy, but goaltending is still a question
11 10 17-9-6 6-1-3 Dallas Eakins should get the Jack Adams award if they get into the playoffs, and the traditional big contract with his new team after being fired two years later
12 15 19-10-1 8-2-0 Hot streaking their way up the standings. Maybe the most underrated franchise in the NHL.
13 12 14-11-5 5-4-1 Coach Paul Maurice leaves with his head up
14 13 18-11-0 4-6-0 Hard to tank when you have two of the best players in the world, but they seem to be trying. Stuck in everlasting Heck, Connor McDavid must think about that lottery that sent Eichel to Buffalo
15 7 15-7-6 5-4-1 Maybe sending the Stockton team to play their US games for a few weeks would work out OK for them
16 16 16-8-5 7-2-1 Getting hot before the break is nice, how will they be in January
17 24 15-13-3 6-4-0 This might not be the year for Detroit, but they make teams earn every inch of ice. Look out for the Wings in a year or two.
18 17 14-10-2 44-2 Still the B's, but still a one-line team
19 22 14-13-1 2-7-1 The ups and downs of a long season taking its toll on this BJs roster.
20 20 13-11-5 5-3-2 Not great, not bad. Consistency has been the biggest issue for LA.
21 18 15-14-1 5-5-0 This team doesn't know what it wants, and as a result they slip 3 spots.
22 21 14-12-2 5-5-0 Like the Sharks, Dallas can't seem to figure it out. They great one night, then they stink it up the next.
23 26 14-15-2 8-2-0 All hail Bruce!
24 23 12-12-5 4-5-1 A lot of trades and draft picks tossed to end up where they are now
25 27 11-15-4 4-4-2 Fleury is smart enough to not sign an apartment lease
26 19 10-14-5 1-8-1 Biggest dip of the week off a horrific 1-8-1 run that has crushed them in the standings.
27 31 10-15-5 2-5-3 Still Buffalo.
28 29 9-17-2 5-4-1 Better then their record indicates. It's amazing what NHL level goaltending can do!
29 28 8-12-6 3-3-4 Make his agent very happy- fire Barry Trotz
30 25 10-17-3 4-4-2 Trade Deadling auditions begin now. Hope no one moved their families to Seattle.
31 30 7-21-3 2-7-1 Natives are very quiet, except for the grinding sound. Is it teeth or knives being sharpened?
32 32 6-21-2 2-8-0 Houston called, says not OUR problem
