2019 Playoffs - Conference
Finals Predictions We call it like we see
it
Playoff time! Which means all bets are off. We're
making our predictions and sticking to them. Not that you should be mortgaging
your home and using this info to bet the farm. We did, however, go a collective
23-1 with our predictions last year.
The staff writers at
LetsGoSharks.com put their collective heads together (which equated to a half a
normal human brain), and we present our predictions for the 2019 NHL Playoffs -
Conference Finals Edition.

BOS vs CAR |
Bruins win
4-1. I keep picking the Hurricanes to get beat and they keep winning.
Still, the playoffs' style suits the Bruins. |
Bruins win
4-2. Although I'd much prefer the Sharks play the Canes in the Stanley Cup
Final, I think the clock is going to strike midnight for the Cinderella Canes
in this round. It's not what I want, because it would leave the Sharks playing
without home ice in the Final against a team that beat them twice this season.
Nonetheless, I think the Bruins, with guys like Brad Marchand, Patrice
Bergeron, and Zdeno Chara, will be too much for the Canes to overcome. |
Hurricanes win
4-3. The Bruins are odds on favorite to win this series, but thee's
something about the Hurricanes this season. They are also a more balanced team
when it comes to scoring. Looking at points per game, the Hurricanes have until
Jordan Staal's 0.83 ppg, but there's somethign about this team. The Bruins have
every advantage, but we'll see why all those things are meaningless in the
Stanley Cup Playoffs. |

SJ vs COL |
Sharks win
4-3. The torture continues for the Blues and Sharks! I don't know if home
ice is much of an advantage here, the Blues seem to play better away.
Meanwhile, Vegas Golden Knights fans demand an apology from Avalanche coach
Jared Bednar for the Av's series loss |
Sharks win
4-2. How can I possibly go against the Sharks, even if the Blues have been
the league's hottest team in recent months? The Sharks have the firepower, with
Tomas Hertl, Evander Kane, Logan Couture, Joe Pavelski, to overcome the
streaking Blues and Vladimir Tarasenko. We'll need Martin Jones to stay hot and
Brent Burns to tighten up on defense. |
Sharks win
4-3. The Sharks don't do anything easy, and the Blues late season push will
make this series another one to take 10 years off your life, but the Sharks
will prevail in the end. This one simply comes down to home ice advantage and a
roster that has more experience getting to the Finals. Joe Pavelski's return
also sparks the Sharks offense and elevates it to new levels in the post
season. |
