2013 Training Camp Roster Notes
Additions and subtractions
9/5/13 - By Mike Lee -

A pack of new faces will take the ice when training camp opens this week. LGS takes a look at the sharks veteran and prospect addiditons, as well as major depatures.

# POS NEW VETS NHL EXPERIENCE The SKINNY
F Tyler Kennedy 6 The long time Penguin makes the move to his second NHL team after a 6-year career in Pittsburgh. Kennedy has recorded more than 20 goals once in his career (2010-11), and looks to fill a much needed void on the 3rd line.
D Rob Davison The former Sharks defenseman was signed to a one-year deal after spending last season playing in Europe. The blueliner will essentially come to camp on a tryout basis.

Prospects
In addition to the 20 plus returning prospects that will be attending training camp, the Sharks will have the following farmhands in attendance.

# POS NEW PROSPECTS LAST LEAGUE KEY STATS
D Konrad Abeltshauser QMJHL 36 assists as a defenseman last season
D Adam Comrie AHL 15 pts in 24 games for WOR
G JP Anderson OHL 26-21-5 last seaosn for Sarnia
F Christopher Crane AHL 69 PIM for Ohio State
D Dylan Demelo AHL 75 assists over last two seasons
D Eriah Hayes AHL Avg'd 13 goals per season in 4 years at Missesota St - Mankato
F Tomas Hertl Czech 18-12=30 in 43 games for Slavia Praha
F Matt Nieto AHL 102 pts over three years at Boston Univ
F John Padulo USHL 16-32=48 and 191 PIM in 57 games for Youngstown
F Rylan Schwartz AHL 159 pts over 4 years at Colorado College
F Danil Tarasov ECHL 17 goals last season for Worcester and SF
F Chris Tierney OHL 18-39=57 last season for London Knights

Departures
Several faces from last year's roster will be wearing new sweaters this season. Here is a recap of those players that will not be returning this season.

POS PLAYER NEW TEAM THE SKINNY
F TJ Galiardi Calgary The Sharks finally ran out of patience with the young forward. Galiardi just didn't produce offensively, bagging a paltry 5 goals in 36 games last season. He was all but absent in the Sharks 11 playoffs games.
C Scott Gomez Florida The veteran centerman provided veteran leadership in the lockerroom last season, but not much in the scoring department. He was a relative bargain at $700,000 last season, but the Sharks wanted to open up space for some of their young players to earn ice time with the big club.
G Tomas Greiss Phoenix Greiss dutifully served as San Jose's backup for three seasons, but now gets a chance to fight for a starting job in Phoenix, where the Coyotes have had a revolving door of netminders.
F Tim Kennedy Phoenix Kennedy proved little in his 13 game stint with the Sharks big club. He'll be in the same situation in Phoenix, where he will need to fight for regular ice time.
