| HISTORY |
| Bell was drafted
eighth overall in the 1998 Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. On December
13, 2000, he made his NHL debut with two hits against the Thrashers. Mark
played 13 games that season and recorded 16 hits. On October 21, 2001, Mark
scored his first goal in a 4-2 win over the Avalanche. That season, Mark scored
28 points in 80 games, eighth best amongst all league rookies. The team
improved 25 points in the standings and made the playoffs for the first time in
five years. Mark finished second on the team and fourth amongst league rookies
with 124 penalty minutes. In the playoffs, he played five games in an
opening-round loss to the Blues. |
